Privacy Policy for Lu Reader

1. Information Collection and Use

JEONG SANGHUN built the Lu Reader app as a Free app. This app requires storage access to provide its core functionality: allowing you to open and read your local text and e-book files. We do not collect, store, or transmit your personal files, photos, or contacts to any external servers.

2. Third-Party Services (Firebase, AdMob, Google Drive)

To improve app performance and analyze usage, this app uses Firebase Analytics provided by Google. These services may collect anonymous data such as device model, OS version, approximate location, and error logs.

Additionally, we use Google Analytics and Google Signals to collect demographic information (such as age, gender, and interests) to better understand our users and improve our services. You can opt out of this data collection and manage your settings at any time by visiting: https://adssettings.google.com

This app also uses Google AdMob to display ads. AdMob may collect and use advertising identifiers (the Android Advertising ID and the iOS Advertising Identifier / IDFA) and approximate location to provide personalized or non-personalized ads. You can opt out of personalized advertising or reset your advertising ID at any time through your device settings.

For iOS users: On first launch, iOS shows Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt. You may decline and still use every feature of the app; in that case the IDFA is not used and only non-personalized ads are shown. You can change this at any time in Settings > Privacy & Security > Tracking.

Google Sign-In and Backup: We request Google account sign-in only if you choose to use the in-app backup and restore feature. Backup data is stored solely in your own Google Drive app-specific folder (appDataFolder). The developer cannot access this data and it is never sent to any other server. The app does not request permission to read or modify any other file in your Drive. Sign-in is optional, and declining it does not affect any other feature.

Text Recognition (OCR): Text extraction from images is performed entirely on your device. Neither the images nor the results are transmitted anywhere.

3. Permissions

  • Storage (Required/Optional depending on OS): Used strictly to browse and read the text and e-book files stored on your device.
  • Photo Library (optional): Used only when you pick a webtoon thumbnail image. The selected image stays on your device.
  • Notifications (optional): Used to notify you when a new episode of a webtoon you follow is available.
  • Tracking (iOS, optional): Used only to decide whether to show personalized ads. Declining does not limit any feature.

4. Data Deletion

We do not collect personally identifiable information, so there is no personal account data to delete. Anonymous data collected by third-party services (Firebase) is automatically deleted according to their data retention policies. If you uninstall the app, all local app data and settings on your device will be permanently deleted. Backup data kept in your own Google Drive can be removed at any time from your Google Account's app data settings.

1. 개인정보의 처리 목적 및 수집 항목

정상훈(이하 '개발자')은 사용자의 개인정보를 중요하게 생각하며, 사용자의 동의 없이 개인정보를 수집하지 않습니다. 본 앱은 사용자의 기기에 저장된 텍스트 및 전자책 파일을 열어보기 위한 목적으로만 기기의 저장소 접근 권한을 요구합니다. 기기 내의 개인적인 사진, 연락처, 파일 등 민감한 정보를 외부 서버로 전송하거나 수집하지 않습니다.

2. 제3자 서비스 (Firebase, AdMob, Google Drive)

본 앱은 앱의 성능 개선, 오류 수정, 그리고 익명화된 사용자 통계 분석을 위해 구글(Google)에서 제공하는 Firebase Analytics를 사용합니다. 이 과정에서 개인을 식별할 수 없는 정보(기기 모델, OS 버전, 대략적인 국가/지역, 오류 로그 등)가 수집될 수 있습니다.

3. 권한 안내

  • 저장공간 (OS 버전에 따라 필수/선택): 기기 내부에 저장된 텍스트 및 전자책 파일을 탐색하고 읽기 위해 사용됩니다.
  • 사진 보관함 (선택): 웹툰 썸네일 이미지를 직접 선택할 때만 사용됩니다. 선택한 이미지는 기기 내에만 저장됩니다.
  • 알림 (선택): 등록한 웹툰의 새 회차를 알려주기 위해 사용됩니다.
  • 추적 (iOS, 선택): 맞춤형 광고 게재 여부를 결정하기 위해서만 사용됩니다. 거부해도 모든 기능을 사용할 수 있습니다.

4. 개인정보의 파기

본 앱은 유저의 개인 식별 정보나 회원가입 정보를 수집하지 않으므로 파기할 개인정보가 없습니다. 제3자 서비스(Firebase)를 통해 수집된 익명 데이터는 구글의 정책에 따라 일정 기간 보관 후 자동 파기됩니다. 사용자가 기기에서 앱을 삭제하면, 앱과 관련된 모든 로컬 설정 데이터도 즉시 파기됩니다. 본인의 Google Drive에 보관된 백업 데이터는 Google 계정의 앱 데이터 설정에서 언제든 삭제할 수 있습니다.
